20Fingers, de Mozart a Chico Buarque

João Vasco and Eduardo Jordão´s 4-hand piano duo “20 Fingers” celebrates 13 years of existence in 2020.
Since its inception, in the 2007 edition of the “mEUsic partnership” Music Festival, in Cork, Ireland, this duo has reached all types of audiences, blurring stylistic boundaries, building bridges between genres, extrapolating the traditional scope of the classical piano recital.
The alignment of this concert is marked by rhythm, dance and humor, and has been improved over the years, being now a journey through time and across European, North and South American territory.

"We start with Mozart and end with Chico Buarque, establishing a sequence based on points of contact between subsequent musical works: Erik Satie carries Schubert’s heritage but also leads us to dance the Can Can and opens the way to America, with the Ragtime in Parade; after the Ragtimes of Joseph Lamb and Zez Confrey, and continuing the strong dance rhythm, we go down to South America and to the Tango of Piazzolla; crossing the Argentine border we arrive in Brazil, where we hear the wonderful and sensuous music by Zequinha de Abreu, Tom Jobim and Chico Buarque. As an encore, and evoking Fado as intangible heritage of UNESCO, we present an exclusive arrangement of “Maria Lisboa”, immortalized by Amália Rodrigues."

In the recital “from Mozart to Chico Buarque” João Vasco and Eduardo Jordão maintain the rigor and depth inherent to their classic musical identity, but never lose the primary objective of having fun and sharing it with the audience. The secret of this duo is, in fact, the pure joy of two long-time friends sharing the stage and the piano. Since their debut in 2007 they have performed on dozens of national and international stages with enthusiastic reactions from audiences and critics.
